TRAUMA YOGA THERAPY GROUP
heal through movement
Our closed, in person Movement Through Trauma Group support
individuals ready to dive deeper into their therapeutic journey
integrating mind and body. Group meets for 8 consecutive weeks.
about the group
Movement Through Trauma is a trauma-informed healing group for adults who have done talking, insight, and coping — and still feel stuck in their bodies.
This is not a traditional yoga class. We’re not doing downward dog or tree pose. Instead, this group focuses on very gentle, intentional, somatic movement designed to help you build awareness and connection with your body in a way that supports trauma healing.
At its core, this group is about remembrance. Remembering that you’re not broken, and that healing was never meant to happen alone. Many people with trauma are used to pushing through, shutting down, or ignoring what their body is signaling. This group helps you slow things down enough to actually feel what’s happening, without getting overwhelmed.
By attending this group, participants can expect to:
• Notice when your body is stressed or on alert
• Use movement and breath to help settle your nervous system
• Stay present instead of dissociating or pushing past your limits.
You’re always given options, and you’re encouraged to stop, modify, or rest whenever you need to. You’re never asked to share more than you want to, move more than feels right, or push past your own signals. This group is held in-person and is open to individuals seeking to dive deeper into their healing, integration of Self, and community.

what to expect in group

Each Movement Through Trauma Therapy group session is thoughtfully structured to provide consistency, safety, and space for personal reflection and connection. Participants can expect a gentle and supportive flow that includes:

-
Grounding activity to help participants arrive, settle into the body,
and transition into the present moment.
2. Introductions and intention setting, offering space to check in and
connect.
3. Guided gentle movement sequences.
4. Experience sharing or journaling, allowing participants to process
insights individually or connect with others (sharing is always
optional).
5. Guided meditation or grounding practice to support integration,
calm the nervous system, and close the session with intention.
This structure is designed to promote safety, presence, and meaningful connection, while honoring each participant’s pace and comfort level.
