Get to Know Melanie
Melanie Gonzalez, LMFT #116208, (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the State of California. Melanie is the founder of Grounded Connections Counseling. Melanie received her Masters Degree from Syracuse University in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received a Certificate of Advanced Study in Trauma from Syracuse University. Melanie is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1 & 2). Melanie is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT).
Currently, Melanie is a Doctoral Candidate en route to a Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. Additionally, Melanie is pursing an AAMFT Approved Supervisor certification by supervising Marriage and Family Therapy student trainees. Melanie also teaches masters level clinicians as adjunct faculty at Chapman University. Additionally, Melanie is a Podcaster and has a podcast (with co-host Chelze Zamani, LMFT) called Human Conversations, which discusses mental health topics through an intersectional lens.
Melanie truly cares for all of her clients, and works diligently to help find them the answers they seek. Since 2013, Melanie has worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives and have witnessed their growth and healing.
